patrickk26Cooking with GasI cannot overstate how much joy this show brings me. Getting a notification that a new episode of the Observer pod has dropped instantly gets me excited for my otherwise monotonous commute (twice weekly!). Justin and Dan simply provide the BEST commentary on all things Auburn football and basketball. They are level headed, entertaining, and certified ball knowers. They are also ridiculously consistent with their quality- even in the summer months with no major Auburn sports. As a C/O 2020 Auburn alumnus living in Los Angeles and proud member of the Peck Pack, I appreciate the rather niche crossover commentary that Dan provides with his experience living on the west coast. As a bonus, there is also often a zany segment at the end of the pod where Justin and Dan give movie takes and recommendations. Every single one that I’ve watched as a result has been a hit. You will not regret subscribing to the Auburn Observer!

Tall WonderNew work phone new reviewI had to get an iPhone for work stop it’s a great opportunity to submit another review. Love the coverage of football and basketball along with the various guests during the off season.

JledbetterThe Observer Makes Me Want to Better MyselfAuburn alum who attended 2010-2014; the most spoiled class in Auburn history. Perhaps that experience permanently inflated my Auburn expectations, but what I respect most about Justin and Dan’s thoughts is the level-headedness. I am still in the irrationally confident “we have fringe-playoff potential” mode that I always find myself in around mid-August, and dialing up Justin and Dan’s reasonable, informed takes about 20% sets me up for merely mild disappointment, rather than year-ruining despair. Don’t let that imply they are negative, though. It is always a pleasant listen that oozes with enthusiasm; a fun listen as well as an educational one. Between this podcast and the glorious release of College Football 25, I haven’t known the Auburn roster better. A must-listen for every Auburn fan not just for the sports talk, but for the movie takes. A disclaimer: I have a podcast (embarrassing, I know) about movies that has Auburn talk sprinkled in every now and then. One could say my show is the philosophical mirror of The Observer. But here’s the thing: Dan and Justin know more about the specifics of movies than I know about the specifics of Auburn athletics. Every listen is a humbling one. Their cinematic acumen keeps me grounded and wanting to improve my show #grindset. Keep up the good work and War Eagle.

@GregL48Auburn Observer Review (in the style of Leonard’s Losers)“Now to this season’s premier matchup: The Auburn Observer v. All other Podcasts: Justin Ferguson and the boys are heading into year 4 in the Podcast arena, and they’re looking poised to have a stellar year. They’re heading into week 1 of the 2023 Football season with a power packed lineup. As always, Painter Sharpless is on the One’s and Two’s, and during the show, he’s busier than 5-star recruit trying get out of College Station. Dan Peck and his “golden voice” lends a powerful punch to this already potent lineup, and the Peck Pack out numbers a 3rd quarter student section at Bryant Denny. At the end of the day, you can’t ask for more Auburn content from a Podcast, and these boys ain’t just talking football either. The Observer covers Bruce Pearl and his dribbling Felines just as hard as Lane Kiffen hits the transfer portal in the offseason. Lathem’s Loser: You, if you don’t subscribe to the Auburn Observer!

GrouperboySA-list podcastLike any good men’s shampoo, this is a 4 in 1 podcast. Not only do you get a break down of games and rosters from Justin, you also get another podcast with couple of friends having bar talk, a food podcast, and the self loathing enemies of the program from the leader of the Peck Pack, Dan Peck. As a bonus, you also get to have a mystery within the podcast to figure out where Painter is chiming in from in an undisclosed location. A truly do-it-all podcast. Come for the breakdown of Auburn football and basketball, stay for that everything else this show puts out!

scottiepTop shelf Auburn contentThis is hands down the best podcast by 3 people who've never been in my kitchen. I recently became a member of the inner circle because Justin is such a talented writer (I first read his columns at The Athletic). Dan is a legend and Painter is without a doubt the best server I’ve ever had at Amsterdam Cafe.

MashPotatoJohnsonThe Total PackageThe Auburn Observer is by far the greatest and most entertaining source for comprehensive Auburn Football and Basketball news and analysis. The content by Justin “Auburn Bill Simmons” Ferguson is the ideal blend of substance, speculation, optimism and pragmatism. The substance is especially second to none, with content based on past and present on field/court performance, and insights provided by coaches, players, and sources close to the process. Painter’s fan perspective is a great representation of the reasonable, invested, and informed Auburn fan (relentlessly, yet cautiously, optimistic) and his voice is like a warm drum of butter to plunge the lobster that is my eardrums into. Dan has only added to the depth and substance of the content and his voice gives me confidence that we could see off any potential alien invasions, as a species (but also maybe just as a fan base). The editing of the podcasts is top shelf and an underrated advantage that it has over all other Auburn podcasts. The premium content is easily worth the subscription and I look forward to following the written and spoken content for years to come. War Eagle! Mash Potato Johnson

War Eagle from the Queen CityYou Were My Gateway PodcastDuring COVID the Auburn Observer was a podcast appetizer that has become the mainstay of my podcast diet (addiction). The Observer has now become my main course and due the overwhelming wealth of culinary criticism, film review and top notch coverage of Auburn Athletics I have had to put on the back burner some “sages” from years gone by…..bye Julia Child’s archive…..so long to (in honorable memoriam to) Sisley and Ebert……I’m not letting go of SEC Network but your giving them a run for their money with respect to my sports reporting attention……Thanks to my Auburn podcast brothers……My only ask for the future is to give the Auburn Women’s Soccer program some love and attention. Since the College and Magnolia podcast seems to have gone in to hibernation for a bit, I am concerned I may have lost my Auburn homer perspective on AU Women’s soccer. WDE!!! Keep up the excellent work!

Brant56Justin, Dan, Painter = Famous WokI’m shamelessly plugging the wonderful people at Famous Wok in the Auburn Mall. Is that allowed? Idc. The warmth you get from the staff there is so comforting it’s almost like you’re at home as a young child and your mom yells out of the window that supper is ready. It’s a familiar feeling. The feeling I also get from Justin, Dan, and Painter. Famous Wok and The Auburn Observer are the same. Beautiful people, beautiful content. Top of the game. Now you can try the free sample in the mall. You can try the free pod too, but there is only one way to truly experience it all. You buy that plate of food, and taste the delightful experience that is The Famous Wok. You rate, review, and SUBSCRIBE to The Auburn Observer. You listen to the premium pod. You read the A+ writing from Ferg. You do this and you will find yourself in a better place.

WLBATLThis Thing Is WorkingLittle did I know in 2021 when I signed up hoping for a few intelligent newsletters that I would be on the mezzanine floor of a burgeoning AU media empire. Now we have multiple pods, the dulcet Peck tones, music recs, movie talk, Painter’s final thoughts, and the Belushi-like shenanigans of FOTP — all for the same, low price. I look forward to the continued growth of AU-centric content and will be pleased one day to give five stars to Aubserver the Ocho. Keep it up kids. Iggy

Clay CutlerThe Auburn Observer improved my lifeFor years, I was just going through the motions. I was stuck in a dead end job, my hair was falling out, my love life was non existent, and I was constantly fighting just to get noticed. Then, I found The Auburn Observer. From that day forward, everything changed. My hair grew back thicker, I got a brand new job, one where I was respected and shown appreciation, and my love life has improved tenfold. I now am acknowledged as a productive member of society, and was even told I might get a shot at the AEW All Atlantic Championship against Orange Cassidy, even though I have no professional wrestling experience in my life, all because of Ferg and The Auburn Observer. Thanks guys! Wouldn’t be where I am without you!

JacobAF84An excellent source for Auburn contentMy wife and I have been subscribers to the Auburn Observer for over a year and we look forward to whenever a new podcast or newsletter drops. Justin, Dan, and Painter, have great chemistry and their analysis is always deep and first rate. They have a large variety of interesting guests, ranging from the local beat reporters to reporters on the national scene. Auburn is lucky to have such an original and unique source of information. Cheers!

Andrew M2014Never to late to sign up to the ObserverI was a long time listener to the free pods and content. Finally made the leap and by far the best value of output for Auburn news and analysis. Adding the Peck pack made this subscription even more valuable. Love the work of these guys and looking forward to an anticipated school year of athletics to follow along with.
-
War Eagle BeagleExcellent - a must list for Auburn fansI’m a longtime Ferg reader & a new listener of the podcast. Ferg & Dan Peck have awesome chemistry & Painter is perfect in his role as the heel manager third wheel that gets involved when necessary. If you’re an Auburn fan & not subscribing to the Auburn Observer, even if just for the second weekly podcast, what are you doing? Also, they have sweet Homefield merch.

Howbo596Top-notch, up-to-date info! These guys are great when it comes to timely, relevant Auburn sports news. From recruiting to game recaps and breakdowns, they cover it all and cover it well. They keep it fun and entertaining too! Might have to start calling myself William Faulkner with the way they have this Barn(er) Burning with excitement for the 2023 football season.

Texas Tiger AlumWorth The Price Of AdmissionI have been a long time subscriber and I can confidently say this is the best auburn coverage respective to football and basketball. While I personally ally would benefit from switching to the annual subscription and save a few bucks, this is the only thing that I willfully don’t do the annual subscription and stay month to month so that more of my money goes to Ferg to keep this good thing going.
-
AUBURN59War EagleLove Justin and Painter but what really made me subscribe was the friends of the program episodes. Got tired of only getting to listen to five minutes lol. Really enjoy their take on things.

dgodshallBurt’s BeesI’ve been listening for a while, but found out in the friends of the program episode from November 29 that Painter uses Burt’s bees. Just when I thought this podcast couldn’t get any better.

myfaincesphone -kmwHere againWhen the silky tones of Painter told me to rate, review, and subscribe years ago, I did. But now, the stakes were raised - a homefield apparel gift card was on the line. So, this is my fiancés phone, rare, reviewing, and subscribing. Painter for employee of the month. 10/10. Please put music at the end of the FOTP and let us hear what Dave is asking though.

Tiger HistalmosThe Complete Auburn PodcastIf you want a data-driven view of on the field/court events of Auburn Football and Auburn Men's Basketball combined with the comfy vibes of discussing these events just like you are in the room with fellow Auburn fans, this is the podcast for you. Justin's stat and fim breakdown of both Auburn Football and Auburn Men's Basketball allows you to jump into the nitty gritty of how players perform, plays are drawn up and executed, and the reason why things have been a success/failure on the gridiron and court. It is also done in a manner where it is easily understood even to the most non-sports inclined. Painter's soothing voice and view of the fan allows a complete picture to form as how a fan feels in the moment, the vibes around the programs, and the little things like understanding how we all hate waiting in lines. Adding Dave and Pablo in the Friends of the Program podcast enhances the fan feeling. Listening to Painter, Dave, and Pablo discuss Auburn and other topics makes you feel like you are just hanging out with three of your friends at the bar or in the backyard with beers and burgers. It is always a podcast to listen to regardless, as they say most of the things I have on my mind with specific events that happen within the Auburn programs. I've been a subscriber for over a year, gifted another one to my dad (which apparently soothed him during the road trips to Auburn for football games through Birmingham, saving my mother from many a scary drive), and will continue to support the fine fellows of The Auburn Observer. I encourage any Auburn fan to support the team as well. I thank you for many a fine letter, mailbox, and podcast, and I will continue to look forward to the future. I wish you guys nothing but continued success.

J-$nelllike chick-fil-a: quality, timely, reliable, winner. This podcast is mothers milk for me — exactly what i need. I may initially listen for what i want, overreactions to recent news from friends of the program. But I am always brought back to what i need as an auburn fan with Justin’s ever-reliable measured takes and analysis. Keep up the good work, boys. War Eagle.

Greg DownesJust what the doctor orderedIn this season where many people get an annual physical, it is important to consider the qualifications and bedside manner of your primary care physician. It is no different with your auburn sports mental well being. To say that the football season was beneficial to your mental health would be a stretch. With that context, I want the Auburn Family to know that you don’t have to reach far to find your best level of care. While I always knew Dr. Justin had a PhD in big data and analytics, it was only recently that I discovered he has a PhD in Counseling and Fan emotional wellness as he was able to tamp down concerns related to discontent from his listeners when his “Friends” of the show went on an emotional tirade over the coaching hire with limited data substance. Dr “J” as I like to call him took his mix of skills and pulled his listeners out of the ditch so they could face the new calendar year with a nice mix of balanced data analysis and passionate hope. I highly recommend his services as you may have some HSA dollars that could be used to subscribe to his services. Sincerely, Loyal Subscriber Greg Downes. War Eagle

JoeyBagofDohnutsLove the Observer and the Observer will love you backDo you love Auburn? Do you love well-reasoned, rational takes? Do you love measured fan perspective? Then this is your show. Justin and Painter provide really excellent analysis for Football and Basketball and their knowledge of our bizarre ecosystem is unparalleled. The Friends of the Program show is also fantastic, bringing a little more unhinged emotion into the mix. This right here is a must-listen.

Homefield AdvantageIndispensableDuring this Christmas season, I think of the Auburn Observer as the gift that keeps on giving. The podcasts are informative and entertaining, and the newsletters - observations, mailbags, film rooms, etc. - are always a must read. Justin and Painter have helped those of us in the inner circle survive the disastrous Harsin era. Cadillac has shown us that there is hope for this football program, and the Observer is taking us along for the ride. Simply put, the Observer is an indispensable source for any Auburn fan. Thanks, guys. And Merry Christmas! NC2010 P.S. As I post this review, I am wearing my Auburn Observer shirt from Homefield. It looks and feels amazing!

zosorunez🐐Come for the unparalleled AU basketball coverage, stick around for no-nonsense insight into the football program and the elevated message board banter of Friends of the Program.

UPSBusDriverThird Year ReviewThis pod is it, the definitive Auburn Football and Basketball Sports podcast. Justin provides great content and balanced views for the Auburn fan experience. Painter is the premiere Auburn fan and show sideman, exceeding Guillermo Rodriguez across the board. Still loving the intros and learning to appreciate the Friends podcast. Keep up the good work! WarDamnWillyBest Auburn podcastThere’s quite a few great Auburn podcasts out there, but The Auburn Observer is at the top. Great job, fellas. Keep it going. War Eagle! 🦅
-
rappoldlpBest. These two are the best! Justin’s depth of knowledge and the way he leads the conversation are second to none. I love having Painter’s perspective as a fan too, it makes a great balance in the conversation. Friends of the Program has been a hilarious and is a perfect complement to the main episodes- subscribing to the AO will help you navigate the highs and lows of being an Auburn fan!

aujbhThe good brand of podcastingIs this podcast worthy of a 5 star review sans gift card? Sure. FOTP? Excellent. But what’s truly 5 stars is slipping into a core core collection crew neck. Buying a Bucknell shirt because why not. See how striking Christian Clemente looks in his Auburn Observer T-Shirt, ref. Ep. 235. I can’t praise this brand enough.
-
B1gtravBest Auburn PodcastFerg and Painter are the goats of Auburn podcasting.
-
J_RiegsTop tierBest auburn content. Podcast is great and news letter beats any other service’s articles. I will admit, painter is my favorite cohost of any podcast (sorry ferg). Also clutch that they partner with Homefield apparel which is the most comfortable clothes with the coolest old logos
